I began my blooming palo verde series in 2019. This piece is from that time period. I would go out everyday and work fast in order to catch the blooms before they disappeared. I consequently had a lot of drawings in various stages of completion. In January 2023 I was rifling through some stored work and come across three unfinished pieces from 2019. I set about refining them and so, ahead of my season, I have three new pieces. I work larger now so it is good to be able to offer some smaller scaled trees.
This piece was started en plein air in 2019 and completed in 2023 when it was rediscovered. It is executed in soft pastel on paper. It is currently unmatted and unframed. Final dimensions are 18" x 24"
